  Yes

The amount of scrutiny that Donald Trump had to face after his transition began was unprecedented. It was unheard of in the annals of Presidential History for every single nomination to be as brutally attacked as it did every single announcement from the Trump Transition Team. The amount of scrutiny that Donald Trump had to face after his transition began was unprecedented. It was unheard of in the annals of Presidential History for every single nomination to be as brutally attacked as it did every single announcement from the Trump Transition Team. The fact is that if you look an individual who has been in the public life for over two or three decades there will be allegations and actions that will make them a target of attack. Same happened to Hillary and she was attacked for failing both actual and perceived. The same happened now that Trump announced his SecDef choice – General James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis. The Obama administration did not place much trust in Mattis because he was perceived to be too eager for a military confrontation with Iran. This was back when he was the Commander of United States Central Command. For someone who does not shy away from a war to be the SecDef of this administrator would be perceived as fuel to the fire of the rumor that Trump would not shy away from calling the bluff of Iran and would not be averse to a little collateral damage in Syria and Iraq in order to push for victory. This created a bit of a confusion for media outlets hell bent on slandering every Trump Nomination. All they could say was that he was too eager to fight. As a true marine, he has famously said – “Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.” That is what had made America the feared, respected yet endeared leader of the world – We are always eager to talk but we won’t shy away from anything – Nothing is off the table. The complaint that we have heard quite often from Military strategists (non-liberal) has been that Obama and even Hillary while Secretary of State and as the Candidate for POTUS took too much off the table without getting anything in return. Gen Mattis and Commander-in-Chief Donald Trump may look to change that and keep evert=ything within the civil bounds of law on the table while talking peace. Peace, as it is, cannot be had without the threat of an imminent death backing it up. Close this
